At last! Today we released “Över gränsen” – the first single from the forthcoming album “6”. It’s out on iTunes, Deezer, Apple Music, Spotitfy and Google Play.
You can find links to your favorite music service through the link below.
We also did a world premiere live performance of the song on a swedish award show called Musikförläggarnas pris (The Publishers Award) in front of some of Swedens biggest artists, publishers and record companies. It was a bit nerve-wracking, because our computers sound card broke during soundcheck. Everything worked out in the end and we did a killer performance with the great Maxida Märak.
In the next couple of days we will also release the video for “Över gränsen”. It will really be something special so stay tuned for more Garmarna goodies. 🙂
Earlier this summer we had a photo session with the magnificent Severus Tenenbaum. Since we will probably never use a press photo with happy smiles on our faces we might as well share this one with you. Now I’ll get back to listening to the first two finished tracks of the new album, Törsten and Timmarna.
It’s Jens here. I’m on the train to Sundsvall after three hectic days of Garmarna work in Stockholm.
I’ve been working with Stefan in his studio and we recorded percussion and electronic drums. We managed to finish recording drums on ten tracks, with percussion styles ranging from tablas to dancehall style beats.
Today we also shot press pictures for the new album release with Severus Tenenbaum and did the cover shots for the album with Pelle Ossler.
In between photo shoots we found the time to sign our new record deal. Good result for three days work, right?
We haven’t done any updates in a while, but the Stockholm chapter of Garmarna has been busy in Stefans studio as often as possible (remember we have family obligations nowadays). Emma has also done some killer vocal tracks and right now I’m listening to three rough mixes.
It really sounds like a refreshing and daring step forward, musically, and it´s really exciting to hear the result. Many of the songs have been in a demo state for about ten years, some even longer, but it really feels like the songs are taken to new heights and new directions. Dare I say this might turn out to be the best album we´ve done so far? 🙂
Rickard and Stefan teamed up tonight and did some guitar and bass. Rickard had some really good ideas prepared and it’s exciting to go into musical areas we haven’t really explored before!
Exciting day today! We met at Stefan’s studio to start recording vocals for the new album.
Emma worked on four songs, check out the excerpt from one of them – still without title – below.

…Garmarna are actually recording a new album. Two weeks ago we entered Nevo Studios in Sundsvall (where we recorded Vedergällningen) for the first recording session for our sixth album. We recorded ten drum tracks in two days, as well as some demo vocals and some jamming with all five members of the band. This week work on the album continued with Gotte laying down some guitar tracks at Stefans studio in Stockholm.
When will the album be released? When it’s done. Does it sound good? Hell Yeah!
Be sure to check out this site for news as things develop. It’s our official source of information surrounding the new album.
We’ll keep you posted.
